Bob Mathew, President and Chief Executive Officer
Bob Mathew is OfficeDesktop's founder and sets the strategic direction and vision for the company. As its leader, he makes sure that OfficeDesktop always remains focused on the customer - from the software itself to the support provided. Bob firmly believes that technology should always serve the organization and not the other way around.
Much of Bob's experience is in the service provider environment and he understands mission-critical applications. Bob was Senior Vice President of Operations for Soundpath Conferencing for over four years where he was in charge of service delivery and customer satisfaction for a leading provider of audio and web conferencing. Prior to Soundpath, Bob was Vice President of Network Planning at Valor Telecommunications which went public in 2005 and later merged with Alltel's wireline phone business. At Valor, Bob was responsible for implementation of DSL and advanced voice services to rural telephone exchanges.
These experiences as well as growing up watching his father run the family retail electronic goods store in a farming community have shaped his belief that small businesses deserve the best technology at an affordable price. He feels personally accountable to each and every OfficeDesktop customer.
Bob holds a Bachelor's degree from Stanford University; a J.D. from Harvard Law School; and a Ph.D. from Yale University.
Alina K. Scott, Vice President Product Development
Alina Scott is OfficeDesktop's product guru, responsible for the products, applications and features that comprise its online office suite.
Originally from Poland, Alina started her career managing technical assets for Fortis Bank S.A. in Krakow. In 2001 she came to the U.S., where she has consulted to various commercial and non-profit organizations on issues ranging from database management to website development. Alina joined Soundpath Conferencing in Washington, DC in 2004, where she was in charge of several business-critical technical projects and managed the company's offshore development team.
Alina brought her exceptional managerial and technical talent to OfficeDesktop in 2005. Here, she manages development teams in Poland and India, and is the lifeline between the technical and senior management teams. She holds Bachelors and Masters degrees in Economics and Management of Computer Systems from the University of Economics in Wroclaw, Poland and an MBA from Queens University in Charlotte, North Carolina.
